Responsibilities
- Analyze emerging tech trends (quantum computing, AGI, neuro interfaces) to inform 5-year strategic plans
- Lead cross-functional workshops to align R&D teams on futuristic product roadmaps
- Develop scenario models for disruptive technologies' societal and economic impacts
- Partner with VCs to identify and acquire next-gen startups in deep tech domains
- Author thought leadership pieces on AI ethics, human augmentation, and climate tech
- Build predictive frameworks for tech adoption curves in regulated industries
- Mentor junior futurists in horizon scanning and trend synthesis methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Futurology, Systems Engineering, or related field with 8+ years experience
- Proven track record of forecasting tech adoption (3+ validated predictions)
- Expertise in at least two emerging domains: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or neuromorphic chips
- Proficiency in strategic foresight tools (horizon scanning, Delphi methods, scenario planning)
- Published work in top-tier tech journals (Nature Futures, MIT Tech Review)
- Experience advising Fortune 500 boards on tech disruption strategies
- Strong network with DARPA, IEEE Future Directions, or similar institutions
