Responsibilities
- Lead research in quantum algorithm development for optimization and machine learning applications
- Design and implement error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors with novel architectures
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private foundations
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and quantum computing interns
- Develop IP portfolios with 5+ patents filed annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with quantum specialization
- 3+ years of experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and simulation frameworks
- Familiarity with cryogenic quantum systems and superconducting qubits
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and probability theory
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding
