Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms targeting NISQ-era hardware limitations
- Lead error-correction protocol development for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on quantum processor optimization
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and secure $5M+ in NSF/DoD grants
- Develop quantum security frameworks for post-quantum cryptography standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit simulation frameworks
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and complexity theory
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware systems (D-Wave, IBM Q)
- Security clearance eligibility preferred for government projects
