Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype and test quantum processor architectures
- Lead cross-functional projects to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing systems
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants through NSF, DARPA, and industry partnerships
- Develop quantum error mitigation strategies for scalable fault-tolerant computing
- Mentor PhD candidates and interns in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development (Shor's, Grover's, VQE, QAOA)
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and HPC environments
- Publication record in Nature/Science or top-tier quantum computing venues
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or superconducting qubit manipulation
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
