Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols and fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to calibrate and optimize quantum processors at cryogenic temperatures
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum machine learning and quantum cryptography
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at premier international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum computing curriculum development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral research
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum circuit optimization
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (superconducting, ion trap, photonic)
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
