Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating theoretical concepts into practical quantum computing solutions
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum processors with enhanced coherence times
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present findings at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum discipline
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Strong publication record in quantum computing or condensed matter physics
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design for real-world applications
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (ion traps, superconducting qubits)
- Proven ability to secure competitive research grants
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
