Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional research teams to develop fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge quantum software-hardware integration gaps
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Develop quantum cybersecurity protocols for post-quantum encryption standards
- Secure $5M+ in government grants (DARPA, NSF) and industry partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates and establish quantum computing curriculum frameworks
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (post-doc preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals/conferences
- Expertise in quantum error correction and topological qubit manipulation
- Strong background in quantum machine learning and NISQ algorithms
- Proven track record of securing government research funding
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, photonic)
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallelization techniques
