The Opportunity: This role bridges theoretical physics and practical implementation, requiring both deep mathematical expertise and hands-on quantum hardware experience. You'll publish in Nature/Science and contribute to our patent portfolio targeting 2026 commercialization milestones.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error mitigation protocols for noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) systems
- Collaborate on quantum hardware integration projects with engineering teams
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum machine learning
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier scientific journals
- Contribute to intellectual property strategy for 2026 quantum applications
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum computing fundamentals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
- 5+ years of quantum computing research experience with published papers
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum hardware
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity theory
