Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols and fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum solutions
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences
- Secure federal and private research funding through compelling proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing best practices
- Partner with hardware teams to optimize qubit stability and scalability
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of research experience
- Proven track record in quantum algorithm development and quantum circuit optimization
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, probability, and information theory
- Demonstrated success in securing research grants and publishing high-impact papers
- Experience with superconducting and photonic quantum computing platforms
- Ability to communicate complex quantum concepts to diverse stakeholders
