Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and cryptography applications
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance quantum processor stability
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using IBM and D-Wave systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams on cryogenic qubit engineering and quantum interconnects
- Author peer-reviewed publications for Nature Physics and Science journals
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Secure $2M+ in NSF and DARPA research grants annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Proficiency in cryogenic systems and microwave control engineering
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Expertise in machine learning for quantum state tomography
- Strong background in condensed matter physics
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies preferred
