Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes using superconducting and photonic systems
- Develop error mitigation techniques to achieve practical quantum advantage
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate theoretical models into scalable quantum circuits
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Secure external research funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation workshops
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction in Nature/Science/Physical Review X
- Expertise in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and circuit optimization
- Hands-on experience with quantum hardware (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or IonQ platforms)
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, group theory, and complexity analysis
- Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary research teams and manage multi-year projects
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies or related fields preferred
