Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-corrected quantum architectures using topological qubit systems
- Lead cross-functional R&D projects in quantum cryptography and secure communications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum processors
- Mentor junior researchers and publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals
- Secure federal and private quantum computing grants totaling $2M+ annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of quantum computing research
- Published peer-reviewed work in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulators
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems and cryogenic engineering
- Strong background in theoretical computer science and complexity theory
- Proven track record of securing competitive research grants
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
