Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead quantum error correction protocol development for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to validate quantum processor performance metrics
- Publish 2-3 groundbreaking papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Develop IP portfolios with commercial licensing potential
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Secure federal and corporate research grants ($2M+ annually)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance architectures
- Deep understanding of quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE)
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti)
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contracts
