Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research on qubit coherence and error correction methodologies
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors operating at 10+ qubits
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical workflows for real-world industry problems
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at top-tier conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoD grants for quantum initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information science principles
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development using Qiskit/Cirq
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Published research in Nature/Science or IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Demonstrated experience with quantum hardware (e.g., IBM Quantum, Rigetti)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and information theory
