Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to characterize and improve quantum processor performance
- Lead open-source quantum software projects and publish findings in top-tier journals
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation with AI and materials science teams
- Secure external funding through NSF, DARPA, and industry partnerships
- Present breakthroughs at international conferences like Q2B and APS March Meeting
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing focus
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Publication record in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative research projects
- Experience with cloud-based quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
