Job Description
Join Nexus Quantum Labs at the forefront of computational revolution! We're pioneering quantum algorithms that will redefine industries by 2026. As a Research Scientist, you'll collaborate with Nobel laureates to develop scalable quantum systems. Our state-of-the-art facility in San Francisco offers unparalleled resources for breakthrough research, including access to IBM's quantum cloud and custom-built cryogenic processors.
We value intellectual curiosity as much as technical expertise. You'll lead projects in quantum machine learning, error correction, and cryptography while mentoring the next generation of quantum engineers. Our startup culture combines academic rigor with agile innovation, offering competitive equity packages and flexible work arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error mitigation protocols to enhance quantum circuit reliability
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using superconducting qubits
- Collaborate with software engineers to create quantum-classical hybrid frameworks
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum information theory
- Secure funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published work in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant computing
- Deep understanding of quantum entanglement and decoherence phenomena
- Expertise in Python, C++, and high-performance computing architectures
- Strong track record of interdisciplinary collaboration with ML/AI teams
