Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for NISQ-era processors
- Develop novel error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy benchmarks
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum gate operations
- Publish research in top-tier journals and conference proceedings
- Secure federal and industry research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent venues
- Expertise in quantum error correction or variational algorithms
- Familiarity with superconducting or photonic quantum hardware
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contracts
