Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims on proprietary hardware
- Develop error mitigation protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum software-hardware interfaces
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $1M+ in NSF/DARPA grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and lead cross-functional quantum task forces
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published record in quantum algorithm development or quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in high-performance computing and parallel processing
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum hardware integration (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
