Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and qubit architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure federal and private research grants exceeding $2M annually
- Mentor junior researchers and establish industry partnerships with quantum ecosystem leaders
- Drive commercialization of quantum solutions through prototype development and testing
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of quantum research experience
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Proven track record of developing quantum algorithms with practical applications
- Familiarity with superconducting, trapped-ion, or photonic quantum computing platforms
- Strong background in complex mathematical modeling and computational complexity theory
- Experience securing federal research grants (DARPA, NSF, DOE)
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
