Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for complex optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum error correction systems
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks for industrial applications
- Author peer-reviewed research and present findings at top-tier conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum gate architectures
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and publish open-source quantum software libraries
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, QAOA) and quantum circuit design
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and Python/C++
- Published record in Nature/Science or IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or ion trap platforms
- Demonstrated ability to secure $500K+ in research funding
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum error mitigation
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government collaboration projects
