Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and simulation
- Lead cross-functional research teams in developing scalable quantum hardware solutions
- Collaborate with industry partners to identify commercial applications for quantum technologies
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and at international conferences
- Secure federal and private research funding through grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing best practices
- Develop roadmaps for quantum system integration with classical computing infrastructure
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, etc.)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Q#) and simulation tools
- Strong background in cryptography or machine learning applications
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage research projects
- Demonstrated success in securing research funding ($500k+ preferred)
- Experience with cryogenic engineering and quantum hardware integration
