Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning initiatives to identify emerging technologies with disruptive potential by 2026
- Develop and maintain the company's 5-year innovation strategy framework using scenario planning methodologies
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops with R&D, product, and engineering teams to align on future capabilities
- Author annual 'Future State' reports for executive leadership and board members
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and innovation labs for collaborative R&D
- Mentor junior futurists and build the organization's future intelligence capabilities
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Futures Studies, Strategic Foresight, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 7 years in innovation strategy, technology forecasting, or corporate foresight
- Proven expertise in scenario planning, trend analysis, and emerging technology assessment
- Strong portfolio demonstrating impact from future-focused initiatives
- Deep knowledge of exponential technologies (AI, quantum computing, synthetic biology)
- Certification in Strategic Foresight or Futures methodologies
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
