Responsibilities
- Architect and execute quantum computing research roadmap targeting 2026 breakthrough milestones
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications
- Secure and manage $5M+ annual R&D budget for quantum experimentation
- Collaborate with industry partners (IBM, Google, NASA) on quantum cloud integration
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum conferences
- Drive quantum security protocols for next-gen cryptography standards
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates in quantum theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years R&D experience
- Proven track record of published quantum computing breakthroughs (Nature/Science preferred)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Experience managing quantum hardware (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Deep understanding of quantum machine learning applications
- Strong background in cryogenic engineering and superconducting qubits
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts to executive stakeholders
