Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications
- Lead a team of 5+ researchers in cross-functional projects
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships (DOE, DARPA, Google)
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Publish 2+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum engineering interns
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and industry summits
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum frameworks
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological computing
- Experience leading technical teams and managing $1M+ budgets
- Deep understanding of NISQ-era limitations and fault-tolerance strategies
- Clearance for government collaboration (or ability to obtain)
