Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the 2026 technology vision roadmap with quantifiable milestones
- Lead innovation sprints to prototype and validate emerging technologies (quantum computing, AI ethics, spatial web)
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive trends and competitive threats
- Partner with product teams to integrate future tech capabilities into core offerings
- Present strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders and board members
- Manage a $5M innovation budget with ROI-focused resource allocation
- Build and lead a specialized future-tech task force of 8-10 engineers
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning with 5+ years in emerging tech roles
- Proven track record of launching at least three disruptive tech initiatives
- Expertise in at least three of: quantum computing, AR/VR, generative AI, blockchain, or biotech
- MBA or advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering preferred
- Certification in futures thinking or strategic foresight (e.g., CFTE)
- Experience scaling technical teams in high-growth environments
- Exceptional storytelling skills for complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Portfolio demonstrating 2026-focused projects or thought leadership
