Our Austin headquarters offers a state-of-the-art innovation lab with unparalleled resources for prototyping next-gen solutions. This position reports directly to our Chief Innovation Officer and includes budget authority for strategic pilot programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute multi-year innovation roadmaps aligned with 2026 technological and societal forecasts
- Lead cross-functional teams in identifying and validating disruptive market opportunities
- Conduct horizon scanning for emerging technologies (quantum computing, AI ethics, biotech convergence)
- Design and launch strategic pilots integrating future-facing technologies into core business processes
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and research labs focused on 2026+ trends
- Present innovation frameworks to executive leadership and board stakeholders
- Mentor a team of innovation specialists in future-focused methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic innovation, futures research, or emerging technology leadership
- Proven track record of launching transformative initiatives with measurable ROI
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging technology domains (e.g., Web3, neuromorphic computing, climate tech)
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Technology Management, or related field
- Exceptional systems thinking and scenario planning capabilities
- Strong network within global innovation ecosystems (Silicon Valley, EU Tech Hubs, APAC Innovation Districts)
- Certification in Foresight Methodology or equivalent preferred
- Experience leading remote international innovation teams
