Responsibilities
- Design & Architect: Lead the end-to-end design of cloud-native infrastructure using AWS and Azure to support over 15 million concurrent digital connections.
- Security & Compliance: Implement robust cybersecurity protocols and ensure full compliance with international sporting body standards and data privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).
- System Scalability: Engineer highly available systems capable of handling peak loads during opening ceremonies and medal events.
- Integration: Oversee the integration of IoT devices, biometric systems, and smart venue technologies into the central data ecosystem.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the technical lead for cross-functional teams, including software engineers, network specialists, and operations managers.
- Legacy Planning: Develop a transition strategy to ensure the longevity and sustainability of the games' technological infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, system design, and large-scale IT infrastructure management.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Python, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading engineering teams through complex project lifecycles and high-pressure environments.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
