What You'll Do:
As a Senior 2D Technical Artist, you will collaborate closely with concept artists, animators, and engineers to ensure seamless integration of assets. Your work will directly impact the performance and visual fidelity of our 2D games and interactive experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain proprietary 2D rigging and animation pipelines to streamline production workflows.
- Optimize sprite sheets, textures, and assets for various rendering engines (Unity, Unreal, HTML5) to ensure high frame rates.
- Create custom tools and scripts (Python/Mel) to automate repetitive tasks and enhance artist productivity.
- Collaborate with VFX artists to implement advanced 2D particle systems and shaders.
- Conduct quality assurance testing on 2D assets to ensure visual consistency and technical stability across platforms.
- Document technical processes and provide mentorship to junior technical artists and animators.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience as a 2D Technical Artist, Technical Animator, or similar role.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Maya, or Blender.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, MEL, or C#.
- Deep understanding of 2D animation principles, rigging techniques, and sprite optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
