Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and simulation applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors operating at 100+ qubit scales
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning and AI integration
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present findings at international conferences
- Secure research grants from federal agencies and private foundations
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-disciplinary innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Collaborative mindset with excellent technical communication skills
