What You'll Accomplish:
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world optimization problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical systems
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and industry whitepapers
- Secure $2M+ in research grants through compelling proposal development
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Responsibilities
- Develop fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures for industrial deployment
- Create hybrid quantum-classical machine learning frameworks
- Conduct high-fidelity quantum simulations of complex molecular systems
- Secure partnerships with leading quantum hardware providers
- Present research findings at international conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Drive patent development for proprietary quantum algorithms
- Lead ethical AI governance frameworks for quantum applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publication record in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction protocols
- Experience with NISQ-era hardware constraints and mitigation strategies
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding from NSF, DoE, or DARPA
