Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols to stabilize quantum systems beyond current capabilities
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype and test novel qubit architectures
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI and materials science divisions
- Mentor junior researchers and secure $10M+ in annual funding
- Present findings at global conferences (Q2C, IEEE Quantum Week)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq) and error mitigation techniques
- Published record in quantum algorithm development or fault-tolerant computing
- Strong background in linear algebra, statistical mechanics, and information theory
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and GPU acceleration
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with scientific computing libraries (NumPy, TensorFlow Quantum)
- Demonstrated ability to secure NSF or DoD quantum research grants
