Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit coherence and error correction protocols
- Lead experimental research using superconducting and photonic quantum processors
- Develop quantum simulation frameworks for complex molecular and material systems
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum literacy initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency with high-performance computing environments and quantum simulators
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into experimental implementations
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience securing government or industry research funding
