Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation
- Lead research on topological qubit stabilization and error correction
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical machine learning frameworks
- Author peer-reviewed publications and patentable innovations
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors
- Secure $1M+ in annual research funding through NSF/NIH proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Computational Mathematics
- 3+ years of quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or Q# programming languages
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Deep expertise in quantum information theory and complexity
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- Track record of translating theory to practical implementations
