Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype and validate quantum processors at cryogenic temperatures
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and present findings at international conferences
- Secure federal and private funding through competitive grant proposals
- Mentor PhD candidates and junior researchers in quantum physics and computer science
- Develop patentable intellectual property positioning Nexus as the industry leader
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of postdoctoral research
- Published record in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proven experience with superconducting qubit architectures or topological quantum computing
- Demonstrated ability to secure NSF/DOE grants exceeding $1M
- Strong background in machine learning and classical-quantum hybrid systems
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex quantum concepts to stakeholders
