Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error mitigation and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoD grants
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Contribute to open-source quantum software initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error correction
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra and group theory
