Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance quantum gate fidelity beyond current industry standards
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype and test quantum processors at sub-Kelvin temperatures
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives focused on quantum supremacy applications for finance and logistics
- Publish peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals and present findings at international quantum conferences
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory and experimental methodologies
- Secure and manage research grants from government agencies and private foundations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of quantum research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development using frameworks like Qiskit or Cirq
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and quantum control hardware
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and assembly-level quantum control languages
- Demonstrated ability to secure $500K+ in research funding
- Preferred: Background in quantum machine learning or topological quantum computing
