Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors with 100+ qubit stability
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical frameworks for enterprise-scale deployments
- Secure research funding through NSF and DoE grants ($1M+ annually)
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually
- Translate theoretical breakthroughs into patentable quantum computing methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum circuit optimization
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Experience with quantum annealing platforms (D-Wave) and superconducting qubit systems
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Proven track record of securing competitive research grants
- Ability to communicate complex quantum concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
