Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for optimization and cryptography applications
- Design error-corrected quantum processors using superconducting and photonic architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to overcome quantum decoherence challenges
- Secure federal and private research funding through compelling proposals
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Mentor PhD researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (5+ years postdoc preferred)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit optimization frameworks
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and microwave control electronics
- Track record of securing competitive research grants ($5M+)
- Deep understanding of NISQ-era limitations and fault-tolerant design principles
