Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Design and execute complex quantum circuit simulations using Qiskit and Cirq frameworks
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge quantum software-hardware integration gaps
- Lead peer-reviewed research projects with publication targets in Nature/Science journals
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing curriculum development
- Secure external funding through NSF/NIH grants and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (QASM, Q#)
- Proficiency in quantum simulation tools (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Experience with cloud-based quantum computing platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
