Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Conduct cutting-edge research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors at 100+ qubit scale
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI and materials science divisions
- Develop quantum software SDKs for enterprise partners
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Published research in quantum computing or topological quantum systems
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit simulation frameworks
- Experience with superconducting qubit manipulation or ion trap systems
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Track record of securing government research grants
- Expertise in Python/C++ and high-performance computing environments
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies preferred
