Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum error correction protocols
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to calibrate 200+ qubit systems
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Drive intellectual property strategy with 15+ patent applications/year
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with superconducting qubits or ion traps
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science/Physical Review journals
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and high-performance computing
- Experience securing federal research grants
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
