Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop quantum-resistant cryptography solutions
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype quantum processors with >1000 qubits
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure $1M+ in government and industry research grants
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing standards for 2026
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum specialization
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Track record of securing NSF/DoE grants or corporate R&D funding
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
