Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected quantum hardware prototypes
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Collaborate with government and industry partners on quantum security initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing curriculum development
- Secure federal grants and private funding for quantum research projects
- Participate in shaping quantum computing standards for 2026 deployment
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or related field with 5+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum error correction, superconducting qubits, or topological quantum computing
- Published record in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and RF electronics
- Demonstrated ability to secure $1M+ in research funding
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Active DOE Quantum Information Science (QIS) clearance preferred
