Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional research teams in prototyping quantum applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum processors
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE conferences
- Secure $5M+ in federal grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proficiency with Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum processors
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- US citizenship required for government-funded projects
