As a Quantum Computing Research Lead, you'll architect breakthrough solutions in quantum error correction and hybrid quantum-classical systems while mentoring a team of world-class physicists and engineers.
Our state-of-the-art facility features 256-qubit processors and ultra-cold quantum processors operating at 15 millikelvin. You'll collaborate with MIT, Caltech, and IBM Research on projects funded by the National Quantum Initiative Act.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Lead quantum error correction protocol development
- Manage cross-functional teams of 5-7 researchers
- Publish findings in Nature Physics/Science journals
- Secure $2M+ in NSF/DoE research grants
- Develop quantum-resistant cryptographic frameworks
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum computing
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in Qiskit/Quil/Cirq frameworks
- Published quantum algorithm research
- Superconducting qubit manipulation experience
- Strong grant writing track record
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence
- US citizenship required for DoE projects
