Responsibilities
- Develop 5-10 year technology roadmaps for emerging sectors (quantum, AI ethics, climate tech)
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and domain specialists
- Conduct horizon scanning and patent analysis for disruptive innovations
- Present strategic recommendations to C-suite and venture capital partners
- Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions and government bodies
- Manage $2M+ R&D budgets with quarterly ROI reporting
- Author white papers and thought leadership for industry conferences
Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology strategy with 5+ years in emerging fields
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Proven track record of launching billion-dollar tech initiatives
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or AI governance
- Published author or keynote speaker at major tech conferences
- Experience managing global R&D teams across 3+ continents
- Fluency in strategic frameworks (e.g., SWOT, Porter's Five Forces) and agile methodologies
- Security clearance or ability to obtain government contracts preferred
